God Is My Light

God Is My Light is Bumblebee’s third Lesson in Faith. Several months ago, I decided it was important for me to teach Bumblebee about faith and God. I began to search online for Bible lessons for infants, but I couldn’t find anything I liked. I came across the Ministry-To-Children website, which has some lessons for toddlers that appealed to me. I just had to tweak them a bit to fit our needs.

I have chosen to only do Bible study with Bumblebee three days a week. Infant to introduce her to the process of daily devotions without overwhelming her. So, I take each concept and break them down into three lessons. We have our Lessons in Faith on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. We wake up, nurse, and then have our devotion time. So far, it’s worked quite nicely.

God Is My Light is a lesson based on the concept that God is the light that chases away the darkness. For this week, we have three Bible verses to read.

Our third lesson, God Is My Light, was broken down into three lessons.

1.       Day One: Read Psalm 18:28. Say, “God is our light. Do not be afraid! God chases away the darkness”. Then light a candle or flashlight.

2.       Day Two: Read Psalm 27:1. Say, “God is our light. Do not be afraid! God chases away the darkness”. Then light a candle or flashlight.

3.       Day Three: Read 1 John 1:5. Say, “God is our light. Do not be afraid! God chases away the darkness”. Then light a candle or flashlight.

I’m really just trying to introduce her to scripture. She loves being read to, and looking at pictures. She recognizes differences in color and what is supposed to be the focus of the scene. It’s amazing to see! Especially when it has to do with the scripture. I try to enjoy these moments with her with love, happiness and joy.

How do you share the word of God with your little ones?
