God is My Shield

God Is My Shield is Bumblebee’s fourth Lesson in Faith. Several months ago, I decided it was important for me to teach Bumblebee about faith and God. I began to search online for Bible lessons for infants, but I couldn’t find anything I liked. I came across the Ministry-To-Children website, which has some lessons for toddlers that appealed to me. I just had to tweak them a bit to fit our needs.

For our fourth Lesson in Faith, I was able to actually use a prop. Hubby is a security officer, and I used his badge as our shield. It was the perfect way to connect how God protects us. I told her, "Daddy's job is to watch out for and protect people. That's exactly what God does for us. He protects us, and watches out for us". She definitely enjoys playing with Daddy's badge.

God Is My Shield is a lesson based on the concept that God protects us as a shield protects a warrior.. For this week, we have three Bible verses to read.

Our third lesson, God Is My Shield, was broken down into three lessons.

1.       Day One: Read Psalm 28:7. Say, “This is a shield. Shield protect us. God is our shield! He protects us!" Show a picture of a shield. (I used Hubby's badge as our shield).

2.       Day Two: Read 2 Samuel 22:31. Say, “This is a shield. Shield protect us. God is our shield! He protects us!" Show a picture of a shield. (I used Hubby's badge as our shield).

3.       Day Three: Say, “This is a shield. Shield protect us. God is our shield! He protects us!" Show a picture of a shield. (I used Hubby's badge as our shield). We also talked about how Daddy protects people like God protects us.

I'm not really sure how much she is really understanding, but I’m really just trying to introduce her to scripture. She loves being read to, and looking at pictures. She definitely enjoys playing with Daddy's badge. I try to enjoy these moments with her with love, happiness and joy.

How do you share the word of God with your little ones?
